Reason: butterfly butterfly valve plate is easy to collide or entangle with solid particles or fibrous impurities in media rotation process, causing butterfly plate damage or the sealing surface wear. In addition, these impurities may also block the butterfly valve's flow path, affecting the butterfly valve's normal operation.
Recommendations: In media containing solid particles or fibrous impurities, wear resistance and resistance to blockage should be selected better valve types, such as plug valves, diaphragm valve or knife gate valves.
4. Extreme high or low temperatures
High temperature environment: Butterfly valve sealing material and valve body material will soften, deform or age at high temperature, resulting in reduced sealing performance or valve failure.
Low temperature environment: at low temperature, butterfly valve the sealing material will become brittle, easy to crack or leak. At the same time, low temperature will also increase the butterfly valve opening and closing torque, increase the operating difficulty.
Recommendations: In extreme heat or low temperature environments, choose a valve types that is temperature resistance, or use special sealing materials and valve body materials to adapt to extreme conditions.

Reason: although butterfly valve opening and closing speed is relatively fast, but in the case of frequent opening and closing or quick cutting, the number and speed of opening and closing may not meet the requirements. Frequent opening and closing will increase wear and tear on the butterfly butterfly valve sealing surface and reduce sealing performance; rapid cutting will cause shock and damage to butterfly plate and valve stem.
Suggestion: In case of frequent opening or quick cutting, choose valve types with good abrasion and impact resistance, such as ball valves or gate valves.
