Normal butterfly valves are not suitable for high pressure, but specially designed butterfly valves can be used in high pressure environments. The specific analysis is as follows:
Normal butterfly valves are generally suitable for working conditions with a working pressure of less than 1.6MPa. Some specially designed butterfly valves, such as metal hard seal butterfly valves, operate at a pressure of up to 2.5MPa, while high pressure butterfly valves (such as the 3eccentric metal hard seal butterfly valves) can cover a working pressure from vacuum to ultra-high pressure and can withstand a high pressure of 15MPa to 200MPa. The butterfly valve is designed to operate in a high temperature and high pressure environment by optimizing structural design (e.g., tri-eccentricity) and adopting special sealing materials (e.g., multi-layer soft stack seal, soft T-ring and stainless steel composite seal).
Ordinary butterfly valves has problems of insufficient sealing performance and limited structural strength under high pressure. High-pressure butterfly valve can be replaced by technical improvement of gate valves and ball valves and used in petroleum, chemical industry, metallurgical and other high-pressure pipeline systems. butterfly valve must be selected according to the specific pressure, temperature and media conditions to ensure that its performance in line with working conditions.
